Kilns
are of the most popular kind in the bronze and iron era: they are made of 2 circular cavities, connected by a small hole. Those 2 cavities are the so called “pre-furnio” and the “baking room”. The first one is a
hollow
before the real
kiln
, the second one is the room were vases were baked.
After putting vases inside, the hollow was closed with dead wood and soil, leaving holes for the smoke. After baking, the covering was destroyed in order to take the vases out. So the covering was to be remade every time. All the kilns found have been used many times, as the red walls testify.
In particular
shows a pre-furnio covered with soil, baked itself by the warmth. On the opposite wall of that hollow there is a cavity corresponding to the second pre-furnio. There are also other 3 interesting
kilns
, which end in the same pre-furnio. So it is possible that there was a “connecting baking system”.
